PRESTONSBURG, KY — June 3, 2025 — The Southeast Kentucky Chamber of Commerce proudly welcomed StepStone Family & Youth Services as a new member with an official plaque presentation on Tuesday, June 3 at their Prestonsburg location.
Staff members and Chamber representatives gathered to recognize StepStone’s vital role in providing therapeutic foster care and comprehensive support services to children and families across the region. The presentation celebrated StepStone’s commitment to ensuring every child has a safe, loving home and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
“Foster care is more than a system—it’s a calling,” according to the organization’s mission statement. “At StepStone, we believe in the power of healing through connection. Every child deserves safety, belonging, and the chance to dream. We are honored to partner with families who open their hearts and homes to make that possible, and we are committed to walking with them every step of the way.”
StepStone Family & Youth Services, a member of the BrightSpring Health Services family of brands, began operating in the early 2000s to meet the growing need for community-rooted foster care solutions. Their services include trauma-informed therapeutic foster care, case management, clinical support, and ongoing education for foster families.
Locally, StepStone’s impact is measurable: 100% of foster homes in Kentucky have been fully screened and approved, and in Prestonsburg alone, 63% of youth have successfully transitioned into adoptive placements, returned home, or exited care with positive outcomes.
Over the next five years, StepStone aims to expand into underserved communities, enhance support for children with complex needs, and advocate for policies that improve outcomes for both youth and foster families.
